The Fish predator/prey database (stomach database) contains data covering 11 countries. A total of 217 399 stomachs are reported in the North Sea data. Eight predator species were analysed and 854 NODC prey codes have been reported

The survey existed since 1968. It is carried out every 3 years in the north eastern Atlantic. The year after the Atlantic survey, a mackerel egg survey is conducted in the North Sea. The survey creates a basis for the stock assessment of Atlantic and North Sea mackerel and management plan for Atlantic horse mackerel. The historical MEGS data is expected to be uploaded in 2015-2016. The group responsible for the survey is WGMEGS.

Data from seven historical ICES volumes has been digitized and quality checked through a cooperative project between SAHFOS, ICES and the University of Plymouth (UK). Data include >13,000 plankton samples. Approximately 2000 taxa, many identified to species level, are included. The data are from a variety of cruises. European Seabirds At Sea (ESAS) assembles offshore monitoring data on seabirds and marine mammals. This international database mostly includes data from the North Sea, yet large parts of the northeastern Atlantic Ocean are covered as well. It finds its origin in the 'Seabirds at Sea' project, which was initiated in 1979 following the discovery of major oil potential in the North Sea and an urgent need to gain more knowledge on the occurrence and distribution of seabirds in their offshore habitat. This led to the execution of large-scale ship-based surveys across the North Sea using a standardized data collection method and a first European-wide data assembly in 1991.

This historic benthic macrofauna dataset was digitized and standardized by ICES iin the framework of the EMODNet Biology project. It contains data from the Danish Biological Station who collected quantitative samples of the benthic macrofauna on a yearly basis from a range of stations in the Limjord during more than 5 decades.

Dataset provided to ICES by the Estonian Marine Institute with ichthyoplankton records from the Gulf of Riga (Baltic Sea).

Dataset with abundance and growth data of the western Baltic spring spawning herring in the main spawning area Greifswald Bay. The yearly survey is carried out by the Thünen Institute of Baltic Sea Fisheries once per week during the herring spawning season from March to June. The survey provides the base for an annual recruitment index (N20) used for the assessment of this herring stock. WGIPS is the ICES group responsible for this dataset.
